4-YEARS SMART VISA

The SMART Visa program was launched in 2018 with the target to attract highly skilled specialists, investors, executives and startup entrepreneurs in chosen industries.

Benefits for SMART Visa Holders are:

  • up to 4-year permission to stay
  • 90 days reporting is replaced by 1-year reporting
  • Re-entry permits are not required
  • Holders as well as family members are entitled to work without the need of work permits.

1-YEAR RETIREMENT VISA

Foreign Nationals of the age of 50 years and older are entitled to apply for a retirement Visa in Thailand. With a minimum monthly income of THB 65,000.00 and/or sufficient funds of not less than THB 800,000.00 in a Thai bank account, a 1-Year single- or multiple entry Visa will be granted by the Immigration Bureau. During this 1 year, the visa holder does not need to leave the country. However, should the she/he continuously stay in Thailand for 90 days, a 90-day report, either in person or online, is required.

1-YEAR BUSINESS VISA (NON-B) & WORK PERMIT:

A Business Visa, also called Non-Immigrant B Visa, is mandatory for anybody who wants to work in Thailand, unless she/he holds a Marriage- or BOI Visa. The Visa can be obtained from a Thai Embassy with supporting documents from the Thai employer. Upon arrival in Thailand, the Visa is valid for 90 days and during this time the holder needs to apply for the Work Permit. Only after the Work Permit is issued, the holder can extend the Visa to 1-year and legally work in Thailand.

1-YEAR MARRIAGE & DEPENDENT VISA:

Foreigners being married to a Thai Citizen and/or having a child with Thai nationality, are entitled to apply for the Marriage/Dependent visa. The same counts for family members of foreigners, holding a Thai Business Visa & work permit, Retirement Visa or Student Visa. Either by being sponsored through a family member or by showing a monthly income of THB 40,000.00 and/or sufficient funds of not less than THB 400,000.00 in a Thai bank account, a 1-Year single- or multiple entry visa will be granted by the Immigration Bureau. During this year, the visa holder does not need to leave the country. However, should she/he continuously stay in Thailand for 90 days, a 90-day report, either in person or online, is required.

6-MONTHS BOI INVESTOR VISA:

The Investor visa is granted by the Board of Investment (BOI) to potential Investors who are in the process of BOI application. The Visa targets Entrepreneurs and Senior Managers who get the opportunity to work legally in Thailand before the BOI Certificate is issued. To start the Visa application process, it is prior necessary to register a company. Once Visa is issued, the holders can study the market potentials and prepare the BOI project launch. The Visa is not subject to any Thai employee quota.

1-YEAR STUDENT VISA (NON-ED):

Students taking courses at the Universities or language schools, but also Interns or Students at Vocational Training Centers need to apply for a Student Visa. With supporting documents provided by the Education Institute, the Visa can be applied at a Thai Embassy. The duration of validity of the Visa depends on the course of the Education Institute. It is important to note that the Student Visa needs to be extended every 90 days at the Immigration Bureau. For every extension a fee of THB 1,900.00 is payable.

2-YEARS BOI VISA:

Once BOI promotion has been approved in form of the BOI Certificate, foreign Investors, Senior Managers & Experts are entitled to apply for a 2 years BOI visa & work permit. The requirement for the candidates is to prove at least 5 years relevant work experience. Also, depending on the project and conditions stipulated in the BOI Certificate, a quota of Thai employees might apply. While having a BOI Visa and Work Permit, the visa holder does not need to leave the country. However, should she/he continuously stay in Thailand for 90 days, a 90-day report, either in person or online, is required.
